Following its recent name change and announced strategic objectives, naTran Deutschland (formerly GRTgaz Deutschland) has joined the “South-East European Hydrogen Corridor” initiative.

“It seems essential to us to develop diversified and secure hydrogen supply options for our customers. We believe that SEEHyC represents an essential corridor for supplying Southern Germany and Western Europe. As an operator firmly committed to the development of the Kernnetz, joining this initiative is fully in line with naTran’s strategy to develop hydrogen transport and logistics in order to contribute to decarbonization and energy sovereignty in Europe,” explained Jean-Marc Brimont, CEO of naTran Deutschland.

All eight partners—DESFA, Bulgartransgaz, Transgaz, FGSZ, eustream, NET4GAS, OGE, and naTran Deutschland—will conduct a pre-feasibility study for the corridor. The goal is to facilitate hydrogen transport between production facilities and consumers across the connected countries, thereby creating a viable hydrogen value chain for Europe.
